> About us:

Our accessories are made of a Natural Brazilian flower called ‘Capim Dourado’ (Syngonanthus nitens) or Golden Grass - as the name translates - is a light and durable grass that naturally exhibits a striking golden colour, without the need for sprays, polishing or any other kind of treatment.
The Golden Grass Plant only grows in Jalapão - Brazil, our homeland- and we work together with local artisans who hold a harvesting license for the plant. Golden grass can only be harvested once a year, which makes it even more unique, state  laws have been created so it is illegal to market the grass before it has been made into craft and can only be harvested after September 20th. This supports the sustainability of the handicraft work and the local artisans.
For the past 9 years we’ve been working with three different communities of Jalapao, Brazil, and we only work with local artisans who hold a harvesting license for the plant and specialise in its traditional weaving techniques. Most of our artisans are women and they work in their own homes, which enables them to look after their young children at the same time. We support and empower our artists to create their traditional crafts whilst continuing to protect their homeland and ancestral heritage.
The purchase of this product supports the preservation of Indigenous cultures in Brazil and the continuity of their traditional techniques.
